CA NGSS K-8 Early Implementation Initiative

Together with the K-12 Alliance/WestEd, Nora Hall represented the Hydrous in an annual program that brings together scientists and science teachers to increase participating teachers' content knowledge, increase teachers' pedagogical content knowledge, increase student academic achievement in science and mathematics, and build teacher and administrator leadership.

The California Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) K-8 Early Implementation Initiative was developed by the K-12 Alliance at WestEd with close collaborative input on its design and objectives from the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education, and Achieve. The districts and charters broadly represent the diversity of California schools in terms of demographics, location, and size. Collectively, they impact approximately 200,000 students.
